Police efforts to curb crime in the capital city has become futile. The latest statistics are scary especially after the Permanent Secretary was gunned down last Saturday. The new trend is kidnapping where the gangs demand money to release their victims. Something must really be done to end this.

GENGE RADIO STATION TO HIT AIRWAVES IN KENYA VERY SOON

Just received these news a sec ago. A Genge radio station will be officially launched in Kenya soon. Nonini has a Genge Radio channel on Mtaafm, but I feel this is a smart move to boost local Kenyan Music. In the near future they should take it to an international platform.

Anglohili radio music channel is also in the making.......

KENYAN TEACHERS ENJOY A SALARAY INCREASEMENT OF UPTO 67%.

Kenya’s teachers will enjoy salary increments of up to 67 per cent from next month as the government implements a pact signed with their union early this year.
They will receive increases of between Sh1,426 for the lowest paid teacher (P2) and Sh30,112 for the highest paid tutor (chief principal) in the first of a three-phase programme.
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) also announced impending increases in perks that will see chief principals in Nairobi get a housing allowance of Sh40,000.
Allocations for the huge salary increase were contained in the budget speech delivered to Parliament by Finance minister Uhuru Kenyatta on Thursday.

Honestly teachers deserve this. There was a time being a teacher was the sh***. A teacher was highly respected and had certain status in the village.

GERMAN/KENYAN FUSION (UNITING KENYANS WITH MUSIC) PARTY AT CARNIVORE CLUB NAIROBI IN AUGUST.K-NEL EAST AFRICAN TOUR CONFIRMED

After negotiations were closed down this week, I and Carnivore have come to an agreement that I can launch this jump off at their venue (Thanks Mr. Liwali). The event will be presented courtesy of my label Stars Limit on the 22.08.09. As I will be the main Act for the night, bringing the Anglohili flavor to my fellow Kenyans, there will be other supporting acts from Kenyan and Tanzania. At this point I can confirm that Nonini (Genge Godfather) and DJ Wesley (Homeboyz Radio) are already on the perfomers roaster. I will also launch my NAIROBI INVASION MIXTAPE ft DJ WESLEY during the event. My aim is to help bring Kenyans together using music as a tool to mediate and also educate the youth about social issues. Prior to the event on the 22.08.09, various conferences/workshops will be held and heavy radio and Television marketing is expected. Part of the funds raised will be donated to the IDPs and also buy Food to those affected by famine. This is the greatest thing I have ever put together in my life Another showcase will take place in Mombasa on the 30.08.09 (Details coming up soon). Born Kenyan always a Kenyan and I am happy to do something for my own nation. Kenyans......we can!!!

The goverment increased the minimal salary from 18% to 20% but the event was dismissed when angry wananchi booed the minister of labour while he gave his speech. Neither the President nor the Prime Minister attended the event.

26 PEOPLE KILLED BY MUNGIKI IN KENYAN VIOLENCE

The killings took place a few meters from the Wamuthambi River that divides Nyeri East and Kirinyaga West where villagers have killed at least 14 suspected Mungiki members who they accuse of extorting money from households, traders and matatu operators.
Distressed villagers could only watch in horror as Central Provincial Commissioner Japhter Rugut and the entire security team inspected the bodies that were later transferred to Karatina Hospital Mortuary.
The attack is the worst incident to have occurred in the area in the recent past in Mungiki related killings.
The outlawed sect is notorious for extorting money from matatu crew, collecting protection fees, kidnapping and murder.
This is really sad. Our condolences go out to the families who lost their loved ones.
